Is verification worth paying extra for?
Yes, and it is the part most people under-value. Mailbox providers read bounces as evidence of a purchased list, and the damage falls on your domain rather than the campaign. Verifying immediately before sending, rather than when the list was built, matters too — business addresses decay by roughly a quarter a year.
Am I allowed to email addresses I find this way?
It depends where the recipient is. GDPR requires a lawful basis and a documented balancing test for B2B email in the EU, Canada's CASL requires consent or a documented existing relationship, and the US is more permissive under CAN-SPAM. The tool supplying the address is not a defence in any of those regimes.
