Our take
A free community directory for finding Character.AI bots, which exists because discovery inside the platform itself is limited. That is its whole function and it is a reasonable one. Being a community index, coverage and accuracy depend on what users have submitted, and entries can point at bots that have since been removed or changed.

Is this run by Character.AI?
No. It is an independent community directory that indexes bots hosted elsewhere, which is why listings can be out of date and why availability depends on the host platform rather than on this site. Anything you find here is still subject to the host's rules, moderation and account requirements.
Why are some listed bots missing?
Because the host platform removed them, the creator deleted them, or moderation policy changed — a community index has no control over any of that. Directories in this category always lag the platform they index, so a missing bot usually means it is gone rather than that the link is broken.
